1. Last night I helped out at a spaghetti dinner that also featured a bake sale. With ALL the different types of cupcakes. I got some red velvet ones (duh). These cupcakes are so good I had a dream about them today. I have a lot of vivid dreams — they crack my husband up to no end — and this one did not disappoint. I was carrying five of the cupcakes around in a Ziploc bag with a death grip, skipping through a Home Depot and a Toys R Us at the old mall I used to go to in Connecticut. (Of course, Home Depot and Toys R Us are not actually in that mall in real life, but this is dream city.) On the way I saw a girl from elementary school who I liked, but never liked me, so I climbed over a couch she was on and totally ignored her. And then I passed by some super huge rocks shooting out of water next to the Toys R Us game aisle and thought I saw a lady and her dogs drowning, but it was just a false alarm. Y’all. I never dropped the Ziploc bag the whole time. These cupcakes are POWERFUL.
2. Did I mention we got some snow today? Like 6 inches or so. So pretty, plus our neighbor used his lawnmower plow (yes, it’s a thing) to help us clear our driveway. The snow was too tall and our snowblower was having none of it.
3. I worked out today for the first time in a loooooooooong time. Three different kinds of ab exercises, some butt exercises, some squats, some dips, some push-ups and a couple other things. I’ve really lost my excitement for exercise in general, but I keep thinking we might actually make it to Yellowstone and Glacier this summer. I don’t want to be wheezing and pissed trying to hike and see all the cool things just because I’d rather lay around and eat red velvet cupcakes all day. So, it’s a start.
4. I just watched this Ellen interview with Taylor Swift and Zac Efron because I am 16 years old. I don’t care what people say about Taylor Swift — she is cute and really funny and, oh, did I mention a tremendous musician? Brian is so sick of hearing me rave about her. Anyway, she and Efron played some Foster the People song, but made up their own lyrics, and I almost got on the Efron bandwagon there for a minute. Until I Googled him and can’t find any picture (except this one, taken from the Ellen interview) where he looks even relatively legal to me. Am I becoming old and cougar-ish?
5. I just imported The Black Keys’ El Camino onto iTunes. It’s so amazing. Thank you, library, for not making me have to pay full sticker price for the CD. Now, could someone in the consortium put Yelawolf on order? I certainly don’t want to pay money for his new CD until I know exactly what I’m paying for.

Glad the dinner was a success! I hope you raised lots-o-money! When I hear about new Black Keys fans, which I highly respect – the new album is very good – I always have to boast about how I saw those two white boys (just the *two* of them – no backup band, they didn’t have one ca. 2005?) at Empty Bottle opening for someone whose name escapes me. I still can’t believe how much blues and grit came out of those guys – and the fullness of the sound. It was memorable to say the least and the thought of them playing United Center with a band blows my mind.
I’ll admit I like me some Zac…haha! He is such a baby face tho!
Have you checked out spotify? You can listen to basically anything on there..try before you buy!
